Barnes Creek Falls, a gem right off the road!  Located in Montgomery County in Troy, NC.  Trails on both sides of the creek allow viewing from each side of the falls.  This is a great place for a peaceful bond with nature.

A quick google search recovered Barns Creek on the map and my curiosity prevailed. 

Upon arrival, I walked the scene looking for interesting perspectives.  I found what I was looking for away from the main falls and carefully maneuvered over the slick rock terrain to position my camera, I was able to capture some nice images, and this is one of my favorites; simple, elegant and intimate.  

Excitement led to an impatient exit, causing a slip on a wet rock, falling face first……no wounds other than a bit of pride and a cracked lens hood.  Could have been worse.
