The Story:
I ventured on this trip alone to Tory Falls, located in Hanging Rock State Park, which is 100ft of cascading water down sheer cliffs, veiling itself in mist and mystery. Drawn by the promise of capturing its elusive essence, I began the short hike to the falls. The trail removed civilization with each step and the rhythm of the forest—the chirping of birds, the rustle of leaves, the distant rush of water growing louder with each passing minute eased my mind and embraced my curiosity.
The trail comes to a crossway, sign “Tory’s cave” and “Tory Falls,” I choose to hit the falls first as I had yet to see any other people and longed for a secluded empty canvas.
At last, I reached the clearing where Tory Falls revealed itself, it was a remarkable sight—a veil of mist descending from towering cliffs, shrouded in emerald green and dappled sunlight. I searched for a pathway down to the base of the falls, but the descent was a shear drop, so I had to find the best compositions from above.
I spent a couple of hours capturing the timeless beauty of Tory Falls. I went through three different lenses and experimented with different angles and compositions, it was difficult to create what I felt, but managed to create one I liked.
