The Story
I’m shocked at how many beautiful landscape opportunities there are in my local area. Cedar Falls in Sanford, North Carolina, is no exception. A short drive from my home in Seven Lakes, revealed another gem with easy access. I honestly was not overly excited about the trip until I arrived and had a glimpse of the falls. Wide open, beautiful landscape, my excitement grew.
Before unpacking my gear, I walked down to the edge of the river and noticed how shallow the river was, I went back to my car and opted for my hip waders and my camera gear backpack. I proceeded down to the riverbank and began my trek upstream to the falls; it took a while to get comfortable trekking in the water but made good time getting to the falls.
I love the added perspective being in the water provided and the anticipation of capturing the elusive beauty of Cedar Falls fueled my creative spirit. The waterfall cascaded gracefully down a rocky precipice, its crystalline waters sparkling under the radiant sunlight. Moss-clad boulders framed the scene, adding an ethereal touch to the landscape.
I was overwhelmed by the breathtaking sight and totally overtaken by the shear number of “stories” I could reveal with my camera. This quickly became a favorite location. I experimented with different angles, capturing the falls from various perspectives, each shot reflecting their profound connection to nature's artistry.
Lost in the rhythm, hours passed unnoticed. Reluctantly, I began my trek downstream, bidding farewell to the mesmerizing beauty of Cedar Falls that had captivated me.

Being a successful photographer is a dream for many people, I take pride knowing my work is displayed in many homes and businesses.
